We collaborate and partner with key stakeholders at the pan-European level across three key areas of shared concern: environmental protection, road safety and technical education.
Relations with European authorities
Europe continues to lead the way on environmental issues, with initiatives backed by legislation to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxide (NOx) and particulate matter (PM). The Euro 5 emissions standard (effective as of September 2009) will significantly limit vehicle emissions in Europe, with even stricter values for 2014 when Euro 6 comes online. Toyota Motor Europe fully supports these challenging new targets, and in a number of areas is already well ahead of schedule.
